Hidden doors. Extraordinary nights.

SpeakEasyGuides is an editorial directory. We try hard to be accurate and we tell you when we are not sure. Using the site means accepting that it is a guide rather than a guarantee, and that you are 21 or over.
Hidden bars close, move, change their hours and change their door policy, often without telling anyone. Every listing shows what we confirmed and when. That date is the honest measure of how much to trust it.
We do not guarantee that a venue is open, that you will get in, or that the details are current at the moment you read them. Check the venue’s own channel before you travel. If you find something wrong, telling us is the fastest way to fix it for everyone.
This site is for people aged 21 and over. Nothing here is aimed at anyone younger, and we ask that you do not use it if you are not of legal drinking age where you are.
Nothing on this site encourages excessive drinking. Plan how you are getting home before you go out.
Listings are built from public records and each venue’s own published material. A venue may claim its listing free of charge, correct it, limit how much of its entrance we describe, or ask to be removed entirely. We honour removal requests.
Paying for a listing tier buys presentation and placement. It does not buy verification, editorial inclusion, or the removal of a correction or closure report.
If you send us a submission, a correction or a photograph, you confirm you have the right to send it and you give us permission to publish it on the site. Do not send us anything you do not have the right to share — in particular, do not send photographs you did not take or licence.
Nothing you submit publishes automatically. Everything is reviewed by a person.
Paid placement is always labelled. Editorial selections are not for sale. The full position is on the sponsored content policy page.
Our editorial writing and page design are ours. Venue locations come from OpenStreetMap under ODbL and the Overture Maps Foundation under CDLA-Permissive 2.0, and are credited in the footer of every page. Historic property data comes from the National Register of Historic Places, a US Government work.
Facts are not copyrightable and we have no interest in pretending otherwise. If you want to quote or cite us, please do.
We provide this site as it is. We are not liable for what happens on a night out, for a venue that turned out to be closed, or for anything a third-party site does once you follow a link away from here.
These terms are written in plain language and have not been reviewed by a lawyer. They should be checked before launch.
